First Bank & Trust provides community-oriented, personal and commercial banking services and trust and investment management services in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The banking subsidiary focuses on individuals, small to medium sized corporations and not-for-profit organizations and provides a high level of service and a full range of products at affordable prices. Commercial Banking Services are offered throughout the greater Chicago area to manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and service companies by a team of experienced Commercial Bankers

The banking subsidiary was founded as a de novo banking organization in September 1995 by a group of experienced bankers and local business people who hoped to fill a niche in the Chicago metropolitan area retail banking market. As large banks acquired smaller ones and personal service was subjected to consolidation strategies, the opportunity became clear for a locally controlled and managed, highly personal service-oriented bank.

The bank is directed by a participatory, local board which has 17 members and is managed by a team of experienced bankers who average more than 30 years of experience per person in the banking business. Management is deeply involved in local community activities. All senior management are also shareholders in First Evanston Bancorp, Inc. The bank provides a full range of services including traditional deposit accounts, home equity, home mortgage, real estate and commercial loans, safe deposit facilities, trust and investment services, online banking and bill payment.
